GREEK AND ROMAN ARCHITECTURE
Greek and Roman architecture are quite similar. They were inspired by Greek work but added their own touch and style. Greeks preferred the use of Doric and Ionic orders, whereas the Romans put forward more Corinthian order. Greek architecture is one of importance influence on Romans. Greeks used to build temples and homes from marbles, for their Gods and the Roman

The most similar things between Greek and roman is the use of Doric, ionic, and Corinthian orders. Roman are only known for their innovative use of arches and vaulted ceilings.

MESOAMERICAN ARCHITECTURE

Mesoamerican is a term derived from Greek and means ‘Middle America’. This type of architecture structures are often designed to align to specific celestial events. Some pyramids, temples and other structures were designed to achieve special lightning effects on particular days important in Mesoamerican structures. Multi level elevated platforms, massive step pyramids, cor belled roofing, monumental stairways and exteriors decorated with sculpture and mol-dings of Maya glyph s, geometric shapes, and iconography from religion such as serpents masks are all typical features that were seen in Mesoamerican architectures. “Tikal Temple” present in Maya city of Tikal is a Mesoamerican pyramid and is one good example of Mesoamerican architecture.
GOTHIC ARCHITECTURE

Gothic architecture is a style of architecture developed in northern France has its boundaries expanded throughout Europe between 12th and 16th centuries. The Gothic architecture is known for its special features like stone structures, large expanses of glass, clustered columns, sharply pointed spires, intricate sculptures, ribbed vaults and flying buttresses. These are the main features which made Gothic architecture outstandingly beautiful. Another main feature of this architecture was ovals or pointed arch. Coloured pieces of glass were arranges in the windows to create abstract designs and patterns and image of important people. When the light passes through them, it should to symbolise enlightenment, purity and spirituality. Main examples of Gothic architecture are Chartres Cathedral, Basilica Cathedral and York Minister.
